One can sing Sacred Harp just about any Sunday or Monday of the week here in the Bay Area. We just get together and sing. There are no performances, no rehearsals, no commitment... just singing, fellowship, refreshments, and sometimes meals.
Groups
East Bay singings are held the 1st Sunday of each month from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and are followed by a potluck. Many of the participants have children, and an attempt is made to meet in kid-friendly houses. Call Vicki Solomon at (510) 601-8576 for location information. Peninsula/South Bay singings are held 2nd Sunday of each month from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 4th Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in homes of singers. They are often followed by a dinner provided by the host and/or another singer. Schedules are announced via e-mails sent via the Yahoo Group PaloAltoShapeNote. Please join the group and you will be able to review the e-mail archives for a current schedule of upcoming singings and contact the moderator for further information. San Francisco are held Quarterly on the 3rd Sunday of March, June, September and December, 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a potluck dinner break. Please call (415) 585-4773 or email Carolyn Deacy for information
UC Berkeley singings are held every Monday, except major Monday holidays, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at All Saints’ Chapel: 2451 Ridge Rd., one block north of Hearst between Euclid and Scenic (across the street from the GTU library). Santa Cruz singings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Email Shelley Phillips or call (831) 426-9155 beforehand for more information.

Visitors to the UC Berkeley singing (Monday nights) or the San Francisco singing (3rd Sunday afternoons) may purchase books at the singing. Books may be ordered by mail from the Sacred Harp Publishing Company.
