The annual Sacred Harp singing was held on the third Sunday in June at the Hopewell Primitive Baptist Church in Roopville, near Ephesus, Georgia. Lonnie Rogers called the class to order at 10:00 a.m. by leading song on page 75. Curtis Rogers led the morning prayer. Hugh McGraw led songs on pages 97 and 448b; Sharona Nelson led songs on pages 63 and 66.

The class organized with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Lonnie Rogers; Vice Chairman—Felton Denney; Secretary—Karen Rollins; Arranging Committee—Jimmie Denney and Carlene Griffin; Memorial Committee—Sherry Louvorn and Ruth Brown.

Chuck White gave a report on the cemetery and grounds: $3,182.44 in a checking account; $6,968.36 Cemetery Fund; $12,065.19 in a CD (savings). Improvements to the church were pointed out, and thanks were given to Curtis Rogers for the donation of an attic fan.

LUNCH

Felton Denney brought the afternoon session to order leading song on page 73t. Leaders: Joan Denney 339; Reba Norton 177, 208.

Ruth Brown and Paige Harrod gave the memorial lesson. Karen Rollins, Karleen Williams, Paige Harrod, and Sherry Louvorn (children of Lonnie and Vivian Rogers) led songs on pages 340 and 119 for the deceased. Those remembered: J.D. Muse, Virgil Phillips, Karen House, Virgil Eady, Alton Rogers, Mrs. Lois Daniel, Mrs. Kermit Cavender, Joe Rogers, Lillie Belle Ayers, Lutie Neighbors, Mrs. Wendell Rogers, Mrs. Opal Rogers, Syble Yates, Gene Prince, and Lois Denney.

B.M. Smith led songs on pages 318 and 354 (t? b?) for the sick and shut-ins. Louis Hughes closed the Memorial with prayer.
