The one hundred-second session of the Bear Creek Sacred Harp Singing Convention met at Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Winston County, Alabama on Saturday before the fourth Sunday in August. The class was called to order by John Hyde leading songs on pages 48t, 47t, and 37b. Dawson Adams offered the morning prayer.

The class organized for the day with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—John Hyde; Vice Chairman—Kermit Adams; Secretary—Roma Rice; Arranging Committee—Emily Jones.
