Made possible through the continuing generosity of the Wesley Foundation Methodist Student Center, the sixth annual session of the Alabama Collegiate Singing was again held in their splendid hall on the campus of the University of Alabama. Tim Cook called the class to order leading 59. Richard Mauldin offered the morning prayer.

The class was organized with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Robert DuPree; Vice Chairman—Bill Stewart; Secretary—Elene Stovall.

Tim Cook gave a brief explanation of shape-note notation and concluded by leading 49t.

Gary Smith conducted the memorial lesson and led 163b for the deceased. Gary Smith and Robert DuPree led 122 for the sick and shut-ins.

The deceased remembered were: Willie Carolyn Denson, Donald Smith, Ruth Brown, Elvin Guthrie, Virginia “Ginny” Easter, Walter Wade, Alonzo Malone, Clara D. Smith, Elvin D. Morris, and Lavaughn Ballinger.

The sick and shut-ins remembered were: Lorraine Bayer; Lebron Hinton, John Hocutt, Jap Walton, Joyce Walton, Martha Howell, Velton Chafin, Elsie Beasley, Cecile Deason Cox, Kelly Beard, and Venon Kitchens. Danny Creel closed the memorial lesson with prayer.
