The annual Harper Memorial Sacred Harp Singing was held at Old Flatwoods Primitive Baptist Church on the second Sunday in October. The class was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by Jimmie McGough Gilmore extending greetings to everyone then leading 36b, 32t, and 39b. The morning prayer was offered by Andrew Farris.

The class was organized with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Philip Gilmore; Secretary—Jimmie Gilmore; Arranging Committee—Arthur Gilmore.

RECESS

Philip Gilmore called the class back to order leading 75 and 77t. Leaders: Arthur Gilmore 108t, 378t, 511b (CB); Ashley Keeton 168, 182, 300; Bridgett Hill 276, 142 (for Jimmie Gilmore), 150 (for Syd Caldwell), 203.

The memorial lesson was conducted by Jimmie Gilmore and Philip Gilmore singing 47t in memory of Harper family members, and also for Adeline Hunt and John Hyde.

Jimmie Gilmore and Philip Gilmore led 47b and 340 for the following sick and shut-ins: Pamela Gilmore, Elder W.G. McGough, L.H. Gilmore, and Estelle Gilmore. Rebekah Gilmore, John Harper Gilmore, Grace Gilmore, Philip Gilmore, and Jimmie Gilmore led 45t. The memorial prayer was offered by John Beasley, and the lesson was closed. Ricky Beasley offered the prayer for the noon meal.
