The annual Sacred Harp singing at Mt. Oak Methodist Church was held on Saturday before the third Sunday in July. David Light called the class to order at 10:00 a.m. leading 274t. The morning prayer was offered by Elder J.L. Hopper.

The following officers were elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—David Light; Vice Chairman—J.C. Rutledge; Secretary—Judy Caudle.

RECESS

David Light brought the class back together leading 176b and 112. Leaders: Wilda Holmes 145b, 39b; J.L. Hopper 113, 454; David Light 460, 171, 379 (for Winell Hayes); J.C. Rutledge 378t, 571 (CB); Leonard Hayes 59. The blessing for the noon meal was offered by Leonard Hayes.

LUNCH

The afternoon session began with David Light leading 340 and 147b. Leaders: Judy Caudle 48t, 40; Robert Walker 465 (CB), 68b, 84; Sandra Light 119; Glenda Hopper 138t, 139; Ramona Light and Sandra Light 441, 358; J.L. Hopper 291, 149; J.C. Following announcements, David Light led 46 as the closing song. Elder J.L. Hopper offered prayer, and the class was dismissed.
