The 139th session of the Union Musical Sacred Harp Singing Convention was called to order by Jeannette DePoy leading 32t. Jesse Roberts offered the morning prayer. Jeannette DePoy led 516.

Richard DeLong conducted the introductory lesson by leading 61, 60, 43, 65, 421, 511, and 316.

Jeannette DePoy led 176t for the following sick and shut-ins: Gladys McGraw, Sharona Nelson’s father, Nora Roberts, Gertrude DeLong, Lonnie Rogers, Violet Thomason, and Regina Cagle. Elder Charles Cagle closed the memorial lesson with prayer.

A business session was held for the purpose of giving reports. Helen Bryson gave the Financial Report.

The Resolutions Report was presented by Robert Kelly and Jonathon Smith, who thanked everyone who helped in any way to make the convention possible.

The 140th Union Musical Sacred Harp Convention will be held in 2008 at Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia, on the fifth Sunday and Saturday before in November. The business session was closed.

Following announcements, Richard DeLong led 62 as the closing song. The closing prayer was offered by Elder Charles Cagle, and the class was dismissed.
