The annual Alewine Memorial Sacred Harp singing at St. Michael Church was held on the fourth Sunday in April. Cecil Roberts called the class to order leading 303. Henry Johnson offered the morning prayer.

The business session was held with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Cecil Roberts; Vice Chairman—Stanley Edwards; Secretary—Donna Bell; Arranging Committee—Judy Chambless; Chaplain—Henry Johnson. A motion was made and passed to change the name of this singing to the Alewine-Laminack Memorial, to honor the memory of Corene Laminack and her steadfast efforts to keep this singing alive.
