5th Annual Golden Gate Sacred Harp Singing & Singing School

Please join us for the upcoming 5th Annual Golden Gate Singing. We will have one full day of singing from the 1991 revision of the Sacred Harp in San Francisco Sunday, April 26th. Tim Eriksen will teach a singing school Saturday, April 25th.

Saturday: Singing School
Raise the roof and rattle the rafters with Northern Roots musician Tim Eriksen at this traditional community singing school. No experience is necessary and all materials are provided. Tim will have the class singing in exuberant, unaccompanied, four-part harmony in no time, using the uniquely American "shape note" notation style found in The Sacred Harp tunebook.- Saturday April 25

Public transportation: BART to Downtown Berkeley, walk north on Shattuck (towards Center St.), Right on Hearst Ave, Left on LeConte St., Right on Ridge Road to 2451 Ridge. (Most of this is uphill, allow 20 minutes)

Bay Area Singers: please bring a substantial dish to share. - 1:00-3:00: Afternoon singing
Public transportation: BART to Glen Park, once out of the station cross Bosworth street and catch the 44 bus ($1.50, exact change needed). The Del Vale stop is after the Malta stop (you can ask the driver to announce it). Stay tuned for possible shuttle from BART to the singing.
