William Walker Memorial Singing

The annual William Walker Memorial Singing was held on Saturday before the second Sunday in April in the Burwell Building, Wofford College, Spartanburg, South Carolina. Hugh McGraw called the class to order leading song on page 49t, and taught a brief singing school. John Bullard offered the morning prayer. Dr. Harry Eskew led song on page 128.

A business session was held with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Dr. Harry Eskew; Vice Chairman—John Bullard; Secretary—Brent Holcombe; Arranging Committee—Willie Israel.

The Sacred Harp, 1991 Edition” and the “Christian Harmony” books were used.

Announcements were made. Dr. Harry Eskew led the benediction, and the class reassembled at the grave of William Walker in Magnolia Cemetery, Spartanburg, South Carolina. Songs led at the grave site were 45t and 62t. Dr. Harry Eskew dismissed the class with prayer.
