The Texas State Convention met at the Family Life Center at the Texas A&M United Methodist Church, College Station, Texas, for the third annual session. Preceding the convention, a singing school was held by Charles Whitmer. Chairman Beverly Coates called the convention to order leading song on page 82 (t? b?). A welcome address was given by Christy Dyer, welcoming everyone on behalf of the Texas A&M United Methodist Church. After Beverly Coates led song on page 56t, the opening prayer was offered by Curtis Owen. Vice Chairman Mike Hinton then led 373, and Secretary Gaylon Powell led 480.
