The 40th session of the Florida State Convention was called to order by Stanley Smith leading 144 and 203. The opening prayer was offered by Stanley Smith.

The memorial lesson was conducted by Tommie Spurlock and Nancy Hogan. The names of the sick and shut-ins were read by Nancy Hogan and she led 447t in their honor.

Nancy Hogan then read the names of the deceased. Tommie Spurlock spoke and led 574 in memory of those who have been called from this earthly family to sing with the angels. John Merritt closed the session with prayer.

The officers for the 2009 Florida State Convention were appointed as follows: Chairman—Tim Jones; 1st Vice Chairman—Morgan Bunch; 2nd Vice Chairman—John Merritt. Those who served this year were thanked for their contribution to help make this singing a success.

Announcements were made. The class sang 47t, and Stanley Smith dismissed the class with prayer.
