The morning session of the 130th annual Big Singing using The Southern Harmony, compiled by William Walker, was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by Gene Gilliland. Jeff Adcock offered the morning prayer. Gene Gilliland led 103.

An instructional session was led by William Paris and Gene Gilliland. Leaders: William Paris 78; Don Waggener 322; Tom Waggener 116; Gene Gilliland 302; William Paris told story of Johnny Carson Hollerin’ Contest. The winner and his dog hollered “Jerusalem, My Happy Home”. Don Waggener, Pat Waggener, and Trent Hollinger led 38.

LUNCH

The afternoon session was called to order at 1:00 p.m. by Gene Gilliland. Welcoming remarks were made by Sheriff Kevin Byars. Gene Gilliland made a few remarks about the background of the singing, and about singing shape notes. He concluded by leading 103 and 10b. Leaders: Gary Clark 31t, 51; Kerry Lovett 144, 159b.

The memorial lesson was conducted by William Paris (for Buck Brian and Martha Aiden), who led 80 and 27b.
