Minutes of Sacred Harp Singings

The annual Futral, Henry and Nelson Memorial Singing was held on Saturday before the third Sunday in April at Smyrna Primitive Baptist Church in Goodwater, Alabama. The class agreed to keep the same officers as follows: Chairman—Jack Nelson; Vice Chairman—William Futral; Secretary—Virginia Futral. Elder Ronnie Wilburn offered prayer.

Jack Nelson brought the class back together by leading 524. The memorial lesson was conducted by Jack Nelson. The sick and shut-ins were Floy Wilder, S.T. Reed, Toney Smith, Lavoy Smith, Myrlene Redmond, Anne Mauldin Chalker, Jacob Acton, Earlis McGraw, Hester Edwards, David Wilburn, and Sarah Wilburn. The deceased were Dawson Adams, Robert DuPree, and Elder Mike Smith—Alabama; Loraine Bayer—Ohio. Jack Nelson led 30b, and Elder Ken Milner closed the memorial lesson with prayer.

By request, the class sang 25 (JB) and “What A Day That Will Be”. Elder Daniel Dean dismissed the class with prayer.
