The 20th annual Eugene Singing was held in the fellowship hall of the Central Lutheran Church on the first Saturday in August. Jean Murphy called the class to order at 9:30 a. m. leading 171. Sally Diehm offered the invocation.

The following officers and committee members were elected or appointed to serve: Secretary/Treasurer—Carolyn Flatley-Gilkey; Arranging Committee—Carolyn Flatley-Gilkey, Rachel Foster, Dave Tobin, Suzanne Denker; Memorial Committee—Jean Murphy and Carolyn Flatley-Gilkey.

Carolyn Flatley-Gilkey then led 163b in memory of the following deceased: Lucas Murphy—Oregon; Tom Madden, David Zehra, Mary Rothwell, Adeline Romoser, Bob Karabinus—Texas; Louis Sarno—Central African Republic; Jack Turner, Sally Campbell, Jane Grimaldi, Will Marcotte, Gail B’s mom, Steve Lebow; Hugh McGraw—Georgia; Bob Lucke—Montana.

Jean Murphy called for reports from committees. Rachel Foster announced that forty-two people were registered for the singing, and seventy-three songs were sung. She also reported that the expenses of the singing were met. Jean Murphy thanked everyone who made the singing a success. Paula Rogers was thanked for arranging the Friday night social, and Jim Brock was thanked for arranging the Saturday night party.

Dave Tobin offered the closing prayer. Karen Stingle led 155 as the closing song, and the class was dismissed.
