The 27th annual Brazos River Singing was held in the Martin Luther Lutheran Church, Carmine, Texas, on Saturday before the first Sunday in April. This year’s singing was dedicated to the memory of Amy Denison, who passed away in December, 2017. Gaylon Powell called the class to order leading 138b. Garrett Powell offered the opening prayer.

A business session was held with the following officers elected: Chairman—Gaylon Powell; Vice Chairman—Silas Huckaby; Secretary—Sarah Huckaby. The chairman then appointed Tom Owen and Kevin Powell to serve on the memorial committee.

Tom Owen read the following list of names of the deceased: Amy Denison, Steve Helwig, Jane Goforth, Edith Owen, Hugh McGraw, Daphene Causey, Darrell Swarens, Berkley Moore, Verlon Stiefel, and Peter Nichols. He made some comments, and then led 386. The memorial lesson was closed with prayer offered by Mike Hinton.
