The 105th session of the Calhoun County Convention and the 153rd session of the Boiling Springs Convention began at 9:30 a.m. on the second Sunday in November. Cecil Roberts called the class to order by leading 30t. Jack Nelson offered the opening prayer.

A business session was held and the following officers elected: Chairman—Cecil Roberts; Vice Chairman—David Brodeur; Secretary—Andy Ditzler. David Brodeur spoke briefly about the history of the Boiling Springs Convention, founded by Sacred Harp composer Oliver Bradfield in Clay County, Alabama, in 1866. It is currently combined with the Calhoun County Convention but may be separated back out if there is interest. The name adopted by the convention last year still stands.
