State Line Singing

The State Line Sacred Harp singing was held on Saturday before the second Sunday in April. The singing could not be held in 2020, 2021, or 2022 because of Covid-=19 restrictions, and State Line Church has weather damage that has occurred. The class expressed appreciation to Judy Henry of Holly Springs Church for her gracious offer to host the singing this year. The class was called to order by Pam Nunn and Rene Greene leading 186. Bill Dupre offered the opening prayer.

In a business session, the following officers were elected or appointed to serve: Chairpersons—Rene Greene and Pam Nunn; Secretary—Judy Caudle; Arranging-Judy Chambless.

Shane Brown conducted the memorial lesson. He read aloud the following list of names of the deceased: Philip Denney, Virginia Dyer, George Burnette—Georgia; Norma Green, Boyd Scott, Marlon Wootten, Claudene Townson, Ann Simpson, Hubert Nall—Alabama; Cheryl Foreman—Texas; Lydia Lewallen—North Carolina. He spoke briefly, and then led 381.

Shane also read aloud the following list of names of the sick and shut-ins: Donna Bell, Nate Green, Jeannette DePoy, and Mary Crowder. He led 480, and closed the memorial service with prayer.
