The annual Alewine-Laminack-Stephen McElroy Sacred Harp singing was held on the fourth Sunday in April at St. Michael Lutheran Church, north of Muscadine, Cleburne County, Alabama. Cecil Roberts called the class to order leading 49t. Cecil Roberts welcomed the singers and visitors, and offered the morning prayer.

Leaders: Cecil Roberts 49b; Winfred Kerr 47b, 46; Robert Chambless 75, 452 (in memory of Ann Simpson); Karen Rollins 87 (in memory of Philip Denney), 162; Glenda Collins 81t, 100; Barbara Brooks 102, 378b; Oscar McGuire 33b, 34b; Bert Collins 35, 142 (in memory of Philip Denney).

In a business meeting, the following officers were elected: Chairman—Cecil Roberts; Vice Chairman—Bert Collins; Secretary—Judy Chambless. The class voted yes on the recommendation that Stephen McElroy’s name be added to the title of the singing.
